Why I Can't Switch to iOS

There are some people that own and love their iPhones and iPads (this I understand, since no other tablet can match the simple experience and vast amount of apps) who just can't figure out why someone would choose a Droid over the elegant and sleek iPhone.

The iPhone has arguably the best hardware (if you disregard the HTC One) , the smoothest homescreen (it's smooth as butter), variety of accessories, longest web browsing battery life, and a bucket load of apps.  Wait...why doesn't everyone have an iPhone again??? Well one problem with iPhones is if you live in Apple's world, you must play by their rules and that limits how you can use your device.

The only way to escape those limitatioms is jumping aboard either of 3 other systems - Android, WP8, or Blackberry OS.  Right now I'll only discuss the Android advantages, since I'm rocking the lovely Samsung Galaxy Note II (the most satisfying phone I've had yet).  Follow on for the breakdown on why I can't switch.  You might learn something!

Maxx for All Please

Dear Motorola,

Please release your Razr Maxx line of phones for all carriers.  Take some notes from Samsung (get it Note!).  Your profits will thank you.

Sincerely,

All Phone Carriers (except Verizon)

I don't know if there is an exclusivity agreement but it sucks that only Verizon customers can use these well built long lasting phones.

99 Problems...for Real

Funny take on Jay-Z's popular song. Considering him and his wife are worth over $1 Billion, he must have many serious problems.

Evo X Rallying

You may not know the Evo, if you don't just check out the first 2 Fast and Furious movies, but beside being a quick street car, it is great off road. Here's a video highlighting the offroad beast.  Also, this one has a nice anti-lag system on it.

Note 3 Rumors Stir

Samsung should be making an announcement about the Note 3 on September 4th. Many people await the arrival of the sequel to, arguably Samsung's best phone, the Galaxy Note II. There are benchmarks floating around to sate the appetite.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 posts an impressive AnTuTu score

The Galaxy S4 has some notable improvements over the Note II, full HD screen, glove compatible screen, upgraded camera lens, new software tricks (mostly useless, the stylus accomplishes most of the new air gestures), and a handy IR sensor (you know for changing the channel when you're stuck in a waiting room for over half an hour).

The Note III will have all of those features plus a larger screen, a bigger battery, and an indispensable stylus. The screen will be larger than the current Note II's and will be in HD.  Combined with a longer battery life, this works perfectly for taking on long road trips or plane flights. The stylus can work like a mouse on webpages allowing easy browsing of full blown desktop sites. It's also handy to scribble down quick notes while on a phone call.

The Windows Phone 8 Decision

Can WP8 really replace an Android or iOS phone? I know the dearth of apps will throw off many, yours truly included, but what are some actual problems with the OS itself?

I'm coming from a power user standpoint, so my gripes may not mesh with everyone elses.  Take note though, that many of the problems will truly annoy someone who expects thing to just work.

One thing I don't make mention of is, if you're in the Google ecosystem and you want to switch to Microsoft's beloved new mobile OS, be prepared to leave your old home behind. Of the third party Google apps you find, none of them will function half as well as they do on all the other OS's. That includes Blackberry 10, which at least uses an Android emulator to get by.

So let's say your fine leaving Google behind and swimming in Redmond's great pond. Read on for the current rules you must abide by.

Blog Name

Welcome to my first Blog.  I'm not sure how many Tech Blogs exists which have a mismash of other topics included, but that's what this is.  The topics will vary and I will try to ramp up posts as I get accustomed to this blogging thing.

Auto topics, you know since I mention it under the blog name, will include performance cars, supercars, sports bikes, autosports (F1, LeMans, Rally, etc...), and of course Car TECH!!!

Woo-hoo...yea I 'm really not that excited, but it is still cool.  Kind of like how people type lol, but in reality they are just sitting there with a very disinterested look on their face. I digress...

The Entertainment topics will include Music (like this Daft Punk & Pharell Song), some Sports (Lebron you the man!), and other boring fascinating topics.  We all love cute furry animals...amirite???

Some posts are opinion pieces, but the main focus is looking at what's hot in the tech world and why we want it. No fanboyism, just a reasonable and possibly quirky take on the things Geeks enjoy, which is more than just gadget.  Since, I'm the only editor, don't be afraid to point out my mistakes, but realize this is a blog not a thesis on The Affects of Utilizing Antimatter as a Source of Renewable Energy.

So why the name??? Well it's a play on the old joke "What's Black & White & Red All Over?"
What's that?...Newspaper you think?...I thought Tiger...Ooo the last color is actually a verb (Read, get it, sounds like red).  Well if the last color was Orange it's obviously a Tiger and since Tigers are cool that's what my Blog is about, sorta. It's Large exciting stuff. I know I'm stretching it, but the colors are associated with specific tags on every post.

Black- Tech, gadgets, and anything electronic (no not cars)
White- Cars, Bikes, Jetskis, Quads, possibly Boats
Orange- Movies, Music, Sports, Popular Topics...everything else

BWHOA

I know this first post was long, but I needed to introduce myself properly.

For the record it's pronounced like whoa. Just add the "B" sound in front.
